IC2944, the Running Chicken nebula in the constellation Centaurus. Image published in Astronomy magazine

This image which comprises some 44 hours of data, shows NGC 1769, an emission nebula in the Large Magellanic Cloud often overlooked by imagers as it is a relatively small and feint object. Astronomy Magazine published the image as both a Picture of the Day, and also in their print magazine.

NGC 3576 - The Statue of Liberty Nebula, captured using narrowband filters to slice through light pollution. Total exposure time: 24 hours.
The nebula lies in Carina and is a stellar nursery which spans some 100 light years across.
The image was published in Astronomy magazine (page 64, March 2021).

This starless image of NGC2244 the Rosette Nebula highlights the dramatic nature of narrowband images.
This image contains over 10 hours of narrowband data, with S11 assigned to the red channel, Ha to the green, and O111 wavelengths.
This object is very rich in Ha, but by limiting my collection of Ha, and increasing the collection of S11 and O111 I have managed to tame the Ha input.

This image of NGC 3199 in Carina, also known a s the Banana Nebula, or Carina's smile is around 75 light years across, and at least 10,000 light years away. My image, would could benefit from a bit of reprocessing, is in narrowband, with the stars removed.

This narrowband image shows nebula NGC 6188, better known as "The Fighting Dragons of Ara". The nebula is an emission nebula in the constellation Ara.
